I have another Nantucket quilt to share! While Nantucket looks complicated, it's really not with the step-by-step instructions included in the pattern.
Connecting Threads Grand Versailles Fabric
Deep indigo with teals, deep red, and cream are the perfect color combination for Nantucket. Those are the colors found in the Grand Versaille fabric collection at Connecting Threads. This Throw size quilt kit is sold out at Connecting Threads, but it looks like all of the fabrics are still available individually; which is great news because then you can choose the size of quilt you want.
The backing is the Calico print in Dark Dusty Aqua from the collection.
This quilt top was made by Joanne and quilted and bound by me.
Nantucket Includes All the Sizes
Yep, Nantucket has you covered for quilt sizes - Baby, Lap, Throw, Twin, Queen, and King! I want you to feel spoiled when you purchase my patterns, so I offer as many sizes as possible. This is the Throw size.
Advanced Beginner Quilt Pattern
While Nantucket looks like a complicated quilt to put together, it's really not. My patterns have you label fabrics quite extensively at the cutting stage so you know exactly when to use them. A bonus is that pieces are already counted out at the cutting stage, so you really can just pick up that lettered pile of pieces and sew without counting! This is my favorite way to sew, so my patterns are written in this manner.
Accuquilt Friendly Quilt Pattern
Nantucket is an Accuquilt-friendly quilt pattern, though specific instructions aren't given to use the Accuquilt. The piece sizes are standard Accuquilt die sizes. You may need additional fabric than specific in the Quilt Stats because the Accuquilt isn't the most efficient way to cut fabric.
Binding with a Pop!
My favorite bindings are stripes and dots, and if those aren't available, I choose a fabric that adds a finishing pop to the quilt. Such is the case with Nantucket with a deep red pop for the perfect finishing touch.
Longarm Quilting Design
Nantucket is quilted with Vibrance in navy thread on my Handi Quilter Fusion with ProStitcher. This is another quilt where I ponder which color of thread to use for the quilting. Navy won out because most of the quilt top is navy, and it would blend in with the aqua and red quite well. I'd rather the dark thread shows on a light fabric than a light thread shows on a dark fabric. That's a personal preference only; there are no hard and fast rules!
