I'm finally getting around to showing you the rest of the quilts I made last year that I didn't blog about.
I've introduced you to the pattern which Connecting Threads kitted in Maison Rouge fabric, but I haven't shown you the quilt I made to test the pattern. This is Calliope!
When I first sewed this quilt top, those bold polka dots said HELLO a bit too loudly to me, but now I think their boldness is lovely.
I went out on a limb in choosing the red thread for quilting (I usually choose a blender thread), and I'm so glad I did because it adds such a fun touch.
Quilt Stats:
Pattern: Calliope, available right here.
Fabric: Annie's Farm Stand with a few other prints tossed in.
Size: 56" x 69" Throw size
Batting: Hobbs Heirloom 80/20 cotton/poly
Quilting: I think it's Maison Rouge which is funny because that's the name of the fabric that Connecting Threads kitted this pattern in! Quilted on Gratitude, my HandiQuilter Fusion with ProStitcher.
This quilt is for sale in my quilt shop right over here.

Did you know that the quilt pattern designer chooses exactly what fabrics are used in the quilt kits at Connecting Threads? We do. Hours are spent on the computer putting fabrics here and there until we find the perfect arrangement. And my favorite thing is to place a bold plaid or stripe as the binding in the kit. :) The plaid you see in the center of the star blocks is also the binding fabric!
It appears that the quilt kit is no longer available at Connecting Threads, but you can get the pattern download right over here. It includes Baby, Throw, Twin, Queen, and King sizes, so it's a great value.
