Today's feature is a Jacks Throw Quilt in Emma's Dry Goods Fabric from Connecting Threads.  Includes 6 sizes - Baby, Lap, Throw, Full, Queen, and King - so you'll be able to use this pattern multiple times, and as a bonus it's fat quarter friendly.

Jacks is a fun quilt design that was inspired by the game Jacks, a popular game we played as kids.  The details and use of the intricate design is so stunning and oh so fun to work with!

You may have holidays on the mind right now and may be pondering what to get your loved ones.  I think homemade gifts speak the most, so you should consider making that special someone of yours their very own personalized quilt by you.  They'll love it and will appreciate the thought and care that went into their gift!

The Jacks quilt pattern is available in the Busy Hands Quilts shop.

6 Sizes In All!

This quilt pattern includes instructions for in 6 different sizes, so pick a size that's right for you!  A pattern like this could make a darling gift for any loved one.  Made with Fat Quarters, so take out that stash of yours and get busy!
  • Baby  -  3 FQs (recommend scraps)
  • Lap  -  4 FQs (recommend scraps)
  • Throw  -  7 FQs
  • Full  -  10 FQs
  • Queen  -  14 FQs
  • King  -  17 FQs
I recently discovered that Jacks can also be made with Fat Eighths, though this precut option isn't included in the instructions.  One FE will make one Jacks block.

I find that black fabric is difficult to photograph and capture the depth of the black.  It often looks washed out.  This quilt is solid black, and the accent fabric in the Jacks blocks is a subtle purple-on-black print from the Emma's Dry Goods collection.

Farmhouse Country Fabrics

Jacks is made in the Emma's Dry Goods fabric collection from Connecting Threads.  This collection uses colors that compliment the quilt that would make the perfect addition for today's modern decorating.

The background is solid black and the accent is the purple-on-black  print from the Emma's Dry Goods collection.  Binding is a vivid dark purple print from the collection as well.

The Emma's Dry Good Collection is available here.

Longarm Machine Quilting

The quilting design is Ikat-4 by Patricia Ritter from Urban Elementz in black thread that was done using my Handi Quilter Fusion with Pro Stitcher. I love seeing how this design stitches out because it adds such depth and movement to the quilt. You can expect to see this longarm quilting design again in another future design!

The Jacks quilt pattern is available in the Busy Hands Quilts shop.
