I have the cutest Ombre Mountains baby quilt to share with you today! This quilt top was finished last fall, but I didn't get around to posting it here on the blog until today!
Simple Design
Ombre Mountains is an easy quilt pattern - if you can make an HST, you can make this design. The block sizes and rectangles vary by quilt size, and it took quite a bit of figuring to make actual quilt sizes because those rectangles in there throw a spanner in the wrench (or is it works)? {that's not an American saying, so I don't know if that's how it goes, but that's what came to mind}. 😄
Fabrics make the quilt!
This baby quilt is made with a fat quarter bundle of Wilmington Prints. I can't remember the exact name, but Wilmington puts out a lot of fabric bundles in a single colorway, so maybe you can find something similar. I added in the lightest blue, as well as the darkest blue.
The backing is a Moda Grunge in light blue.
This quilt would look spectacular in a rainbow of colors!
This quilt top was made by Kare, one of my professional sewists.
Quilting Design
Ombre Mountains is quilted in Wandering Spirals, a digital design done on my Handi Quilter Fusion with ProStitcher. This is another one of my go-to designs that always looks smashing on a quilt. Thread color is light gray.
All the Sizes
The Ombre Mountains quilt pattern includes all of the sizes - 6 in all! You're covered with Baby, Lap (for smaller peeps), Throw, Twin, Queen, and King.
Ombre Mountains is made from 14 fabrics which can be an ombre of a single colorway like this quilt, or a variety of colorways such as this pink/purple/teal one I made in this blog post. It would also look smashing in a rainbow of color!
