Today I'm sharing a Woven Windows Throw quilt in Notting Hill!  This is a layer-cake friendly quilt pattern that goes together quickly.

Notting Hill is one of my favorite fabric collections of all time, and I've made several quilts with it.

The Woven Windows quilt pattern is available in the Busy Hands Quilts shop.

All the Sizes!

The Woven Windows quilt pattern includes all of the sizes - 5 in all - Baby, Throw, Twin, Queen, and King.  The three smaller sizes are made with one layer cake or less, and the Queen and King sizes are made with about two layer cakes.

     Baby 43" x 43" - just 10 layer cake squares

     Throw 53" x 74" - 30 layer cake squares

     Twin or Oversized Throw 64" x 85" - 42 layer cake squares

     Queen 96" x 106"  - 81 layer cake squares

     King 106" x 106" - 89 layer cake squares

Notting Hill Fabrics!

This Throw Woven Windows Throw quilt is made with Notting Hill by Amy Smart for Riley Blake Designs.  Oh my, it's one of my favorite collections!  It's paired with a dark blue Kona and bright white.

You'll find Notting Hill right here on Etsy.

Sometimes the lighter squares in a layer cake are hard to use in a pattern because they are washed out against a light background fabric.  This pattern includes both a light and dark background fabric, so every square in the layer cake is usable.  Simply pair the lighter prints with the darker background fabric, and pair the darker prints with the lighter background fabric.

Of course, the background fabrics could both be a similar hue, or shade, and it's not required that one be darker than the other one.  That would make a whole different twist to Woven Windows!

Precut Friendly - Layer Cake Love!

Woven Windows is a precut quilt pattern that uses 10" layer cake squares.  This quilt is made with a layer cake of Notting Hill fabric, available right here.

A single layer cake, along with two background fabrics, will make four baby-sized quilts.  The Throw and Twin sizes are made with a single layer cake (Twin requires 42, and some layer cakes only have 40 squares, depending on the manufacturer).  The Queen size requires two layer cakes at 81 squares, and the King size requires just a tad over two layer cakes at 89 squares.

The Woven Windows quilt pattern is available in the Busy Hands Quilts shop.

Quick and Easy Quilt Pattern

Woven Threads is a quick and easy quilt pattern.  Grab some layer cake squares and two background fabrics, and you're all set!  If you don't have layer cakes in your fabric stash, simply cut the number of squares in matching prints in the sizes indicated in the pattern.

The blocks are easy and go together so quickly that it's a great weekend quilt project.

Longarm Quilting

This Woven Windows quilt is quilted with navy thread with a digital design called Halcyon on my HandiQuilter Fusion with ProStitcher.  I prefer that the backing fabric color matches the quilting thread, so the backing ended up a navy blue that coordinates with the navy blue in the front of the quilt.

This quilt top was made by Kare and quilted and bound by me.

The Woven Windows Design

The Woven Windows quilt pattern gives detailed instructions on making the pieced setting triangles, so you'll make them with confidence.  The pieced block design is carried out to the edges on the sides of the quilt, yet the top and bottom of the quilt are made with solid fabric for a unique quilt design.

The Woven Windows quilt pattern is available in the Busy Hands Quilts shop.
